How verification works
When a listing counts as a backlink, what we check, how often we re-check, and what the evidence shows.
Updated
What counts
A listing counts as a backlink only when our server fetched the directory's live page and found a link to your product on it. Until then it is "submitted", "pending review" or "approved, not yet verified live", whatever the directory told us.
What we record
For each verified listing the campaign shows the page address, the HTTP status, when we fetched it and the part of the page that contains your link. You can open the page yourself.
Followed or nofollow
Many directories mark outgoing links as nofollow. We read the link's attributes and show whether it is followed, nofollow or mixed. We never promise a followed link.
Re-checks
Listings change. Depending on your plan, we fetch verified listings again and tell you if the page is gone, no longer links to your product, or changed between followed and nofollow. A check that could not conclude (the site was down, or its robots.txt blocked us) is not a verdict and does not change anything.
What verification does not tell you
It does not tell you that the listing sends visitors or helps your search ranking. We make no claim about either.
